Summer Theatre!

We are so proud of all our students who participated in a show onstage and behind the scenes this summer. South students were involved in 13 shows with 10 different theatre companies across the Kansas City metro area including but not limited to Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park, Music Theatre Kansas City, the Coterie Theatre, and Stage Right Performing Arts.

Our very own director, Mark Swezey, directed the Midwest premiere of Matilda this summer at Shawnee Mission Theatre In the Park. The performance was stage managed by former and current South students, Ashley Hays, Daniel Rangel, and William Foss. The crew also consisted of many South graduates and current students including: Max Bounyadeth, Lauren Moreland, Molly Millet, Megan Wiley, Maddie Ramsay, Steven Yuen, Maddy Pilarz, Zoe Lanigan, Caitlin Carrell, Megan McCain, Noah Biswell, and Sam Hale. South students and alumni who performed in the show were Marissa Lunetta, Morgan Lank, Lily Cooper, Jesse Hoover, Taylor Schierbeck, and Holden Schroeder. Congratulations to this cast and crew on an amazing run attended by over 7,000 audience members!
